Elmvale Veterinary Hospital is committed to giving back to our community and caring for animals in need. We’ve provided quality veterinary care through the following programs:

Spay & Neuter Clinic in Summer Beaver, Ontario 2016

In August of 2016, Dr. Ken Storimans and Dr. Justin Levy travelled to Summer Beaver in northern Ontario to volunteer their time spaying, neutering and caring for dogs on a First Nations reserve. 

Nibinamik First Nation, also known as Summer Beaver, is a small Oji-Cree community located about 600 km north of Thunder Bay. It’s a fly-in community in the summer and connected to the rest of the province by an ice road during the winter months.

Dr. Levy and Dr. Storimans travelled with the group, Friends of Animush, a dog rescue that promotes spaying, neutering, and medical care for dogs and cats in remote towns and villages in Northern Ontario. These communities would otherwise have no access to veterinary care. The trip lasted a week and we were able to spay, neuter, and vaccinate about 50 dogs and a handful of cats.

The Elmvale Kitty Condo Rescue

We work with local volunteers to rescue and rehabilitate cats and kittens from feral cat colonies in Elmvale. We offer our spay, neuter, vaccination, deworming, and parasite prevention services to these animals. Over the last 5 years, we found forever homes for several hundred cats and kittens. In addition, each spring we participate in the “Fur Raiser” silent auction and dinner to help raise funds for Elmvale Kitty Condo Rescue.
